AN EMAIL I RECEIVED: Subject: Question on the KJV Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2002 15:07:05 -0500 From: john To: webmaster@jesus-is-lord.com Why does the bible talk about unicorns and satyrs? I thought that these were Greek myths. Deuteronomy 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh. Isaiah 13:21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. Job 39:9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. Ezekiel 2:4, 6 ************ from one of our readers: "...The King James Bible is the Word of God in English, which mentions dragons, unicorns, satyrs etc. All these creatures existed some time in the past, although not with the embellishments that have been added to them over the centuries. Dragons can be shown to be the dinosaurs of the past. Although they were reptilian creatures, many of which were large, dragons are usually relegated to myth by people who can't see that the myths often have a core of truth to them..."
