Subject: Thank you Date: Fri, 21 Feb 2003 14:19:40 -0600 To: webmaster@jesus-is-lord.com Thank you so much for your web-site. I am 24 years old and my husband I are born again and live in Springfield, Missouri. We are both deeply frustrated with the isolation we are experiencing since we left church because of charismatic apostacy. We have since tried several churches and only found more of the poisonous doctrine of the Latter Rain/Manifest Sons of God stuff. We have Christian friends that are missionaries and family that are believers but it is discouraging to see so much of the church doing strange things. The Assemblies of God headquarters is right here in this town so perhaps that is why it is seems so concentrated here. Seeing your website gives me hope that there are other discerning believers out there and it's nice to see we're not alone in our views that seem so contrary to all the churchgoing charismatics around us. I know and have learned the hard way that it is necessary to pray for the Lord's protection from the deception that is at work right now. I thought I knew my Bible and I grew up in the Word but even so I was lured into the hyper-charismatic lie for a season. It was only by the grace of our Lord that He opened my eyes to the painful truth of my apostasy. Through that, I speak from experience that we cannot trust our human judgement, reasoning, or our very heart - we must only trust in the Lord Jesus to protect us daily and to guard our heart and mind. He is faithful - when I was so confused and didn't know what to believe, and I earnestly prayed to the Lord, "Lord You show me Your Truth" He was faithful and restored me. So it is very important right now that all believers rely on the Lord and to pray for those who need their eyes opened. I could go on and on but I just wanted to let you know I appreciate your website. How I found your website was that I was searching for a particular book on Google and your site came up in the search. This morning I was having a conversation with a woman I work with about how we were trying to find a church home and about the charismatic/pentecostal things we had seen. She shared with me that at her former church before she moved here - they had a guest speaker whose name she couldn't remember who was speaking about his book. This man was a born again believer and a former catholic priest and he has written a book about some of his observations about the charismatics. Soon after becoming a Christian he was curious about some of these "revival meetings" that these charismatics have and so out of curiosity he went to one. >From his catholic background he knew Latin and to his surprise a few of these charismatics spouting "tongues" were speaking Latin - and even more disturbing he understood what they were saying and they were cursing. He tried to tell them and explain but of course nobody believed him. So, I'm still trying to find this book because it sounds interesting and if it's true I have more than a few friends that I could share this with. Your site is so right about the catholic church - it's so obvious. I can't find a picture I thought I had saved of the pope kissing the koran but you might have it already and it wouldn't surprise anyone anyway. Thanks again and God bless.
