YOUR WHOLE FAMILY CAN (and should) BE A PRAISE
TO THE NAME AND DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST.

We are alive to honour and glorify God in ALL that we do. Our families are to glorify God. Father loving mother as Christ loved the church. Mother submitting to father as the church submits to Christ. Children obeying parents. Daddy working, Mama keeping a house. Children trained in the ways of King Jesus. This makes for a blessed home that magnifies the doctrine of God our Saviour.

The Christian life is a spiritual and an heavenly life. Your conversation is not of earth, it is of heaven. When you've been washed in the blood, the OLD MAN man and his corruption is DEAD (see ALL of Romans chapters 6, 7, and 8) AND you are a NEW creature (II Cor 5:17), the workmanship of God Himself (Eph 2:10). NOW you are an spiritual--if so be that you've been born again. The riches of the GRACE of God are now yours that you may magnify the name and doctrine of Jesus Christ. What is grace? It is divine FAVOUR, INFLUENCE and EMPOWERMENT--all that God may be glorified for His excellent greatness. You can't do anything on your own. You need to call on God's rich GRACE. He will help you to live a righteous, sanctified, consecrated life. It is blessed!

When you were a sinner, you trafficked in iniquity and debauchery but NOW that you are Christian, you are to be a broker of righteousness transacting your Father's business. The righteousness of God is to pervade OUR WHOLE LIFE. Our families should REFLECT the glory of God. Husband and wife are joint heirs of the grace of life. Our children are holy and treated as an heritage of the Lord.

BUT THERE'S A PROBLEM.

It is rare to see the above situation. As with many precepts, the old landmarks on how to be a family have been removed. Then again, many professed Christians don't even know what the gospel is--they are not even a Christian family. They think that you mumble a prayer and keep on living as you always did. Today's false gospel offers a god that will help you with YOUR plans instead of the true God Who requires that you SERVE HIM with your spirit in the gospel of His Son.

Many of today's Christian families look just like the world in every aspect--except they go to a church building regularly. At home, everybody is in a different room watching hell-i-vision and HBO (Hell's Box Office--and PAYING for it!). There's arguing and unkindness. Love has waxed cold and everybody is easily offended. Mothers are working outside the home. Children in public school. Children are considered a nuisance and unruly (by the very parents that RAISED them to be that way)--instead of a blessing. The children are worldly and ugly. Divorce (Torrey called it legalized adultery) is rampant.

So-called Christian families are CURSED because King Jesus and His doctrine is not the center of them. Many people attribute their household turmoil to some deficiency in their spouse when in actuality they are out of position their own self and being REBUKED by God. The Psalmist says we must shew our children

Psalms 78:4 ...THE PRAISES of the LORD, AND HIS STRENGTH, AND HIS WONDERFUL WORKS THAT HE HATH DONE.
78:5 For he ESTABLISHED a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
78:6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
78:7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.

Our responsibility as Christian parents is to see our children attached to Christ. Not through dead formalism--that is not salvation. But through worship of the Most High. That means letting go of the world and LEARNING WHAT IT MEANS TO LIVE FOR CHRIST!


NO NEED TO REMAIN PITIFUL

We must liberally APPLY sound doctrine (King James 1611) to this grievous problem. Then, and only then, will we become families that glorify the name of Christ. We will be holy instead of unholy. Let's slow down and CULTIVATE the family garden so that it will bring forth fruit to the Most High. Feed yourself and your children the heavenly manna (Jesus Christ) and you will see the results. Lay the foundation of Jesus Christ. Honour Him in your home instead of dishonouring Him by the things you watch, say, and do. Stop living low and rise in Christ. This page is created as a resource to this end. My family was about as lame as it gets (we lived low and I've seen many an evil year) but after we got good understanding and APPLIED it, the Lord has blessed us that we should magnify His name and doctrine--AS A FAMILY. And we are having an AWESOME time! The blessing of the Lord in your home is a rich experience. People come to this house and are BLESSED and not cursed. Your witness can be life-changing for someone else.

A word for singles: Let not the eunuch say, "Behold I am a dry tree." If you use your single life well, thou SHALT be an mighty one in the earth without the distractions attending the married folk (I Cor 7:32-34). Do not forget that "Thy Maker is thy husband" (Is 54:5) therefore if you study and consider human marriage in light of our relationship with Christ thou shalt be RICH (we would ALL do well to study this). King Jesus is called the Bridegroom and the church is the bride. Let us go and learn what that meaneth.

Strong, Bible-based Christian families live as heirs together of the grace of life.

family, [L. familia, household establishment] n. a household; the basic social unit consisting of a husband and a wife and the children that they rear.

Note: it does NOT take a village to raise a child. It takes the blood of Jesus, the Word of God, a father, and a mother to raise a child. That's the Bible pattern. If you are a single parent, the blood, the Word, and grace will sustain you.





Fathers.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it (Eph 5:25). And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (I Cor 6:4). Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged (Col 3:21). 		readingbible



Mothers.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Ephesians 5:22-24



Children.
Ephesians 6:1, 4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but BRING THEM UP in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. For, Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3) Holy children, you are to be a BLESSING to your parents. Psalm 127:4-5 says, "As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. HAPPY is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall NOT be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."




TRAINING UP God-glorifying, wise, obedient children.
Proverbs 22:6 TRAIN UP a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Don't have them watching hellivision, playing Pokemon, and playing videos to keep them out of your hair. TRAIN THEM--it's fun!

Homeschooling.
...I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also (II Tim 1:5). And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (II Tim 3:15). Timothy's mother and grandmother had it going on. They weren't silly women that didn't know any doctrine. The goal of parents is to lead your child to Christ and Christian MATURITY so they adorn the doctrine God and His Christ--but you can't take them no higher than yourself. Hypocrite parents drive children from the Lord no matter how many times you take them to church. Children don't have to be silly fools, they can be wise and a joy to you. Parents, labour in the word and in doctrine. Love your family. TRAIN THEM. It's fun!

A NOTE ON BOB JONES UNIVERSITY

I've been asked why I would provide links to BJU resources when they are notoriously prejudiced. They didn't allow interracial marriages in their school into recent times (like the 70s). Why do I suggest them? BECAUSE THEY HAVE EXCELLENT RESOURCES! I get good King James information where I can. The reality is that a lot of church people are prejudiced. Believe me, I KNOW. I am a person of color and I've gotten it left and right in churches, but that doesn't stop me from travelling, attending, interviewing, talking, inviting, writing and enjoying all people. I worship God and if any man be a worshipper of God, he'll come to love me even though my skin is brown. He that is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

For the record, I am not prejudiced. I'm not against two people getting married no matter what color they are. I disagree with BJUs stance, but who do I agree with all the time? Probably nobody. I republish a lot of works on the internet and if it were required that I agree with the author in all their views/preferences/prejudices, then there'd probably be no postings here except my own. In fact, if I looked for 100% agreement, I probably couldn't even attend a church.

A sister quoted Acts 17:26 which tells us that God hath made all men of one blood. That is a wonderful truth. Whether Chinese, Hawaiian, white, black, hispanic, Eskimo, Indian, Native American, Arabic, Jewish, etc. we are ALL made of ONE blood. It is ridiculous to be prejudiced. But Brother James Knox of Bible Baptist in Deland, FL made an interesting observation about this passage of scripture. Many people (both prejudiced and un-prejudiced) stop at verse 26. Go to verse 27 and it will tell you WHY the Lord scattered man at Babel and made us to dwell on all the face of the earth--"That they should seek the Lord..." God separated by race and language that they may seek the Lord. When we were all lumped up together in sin, we went hog wild to build the tower of Babel and from that point on, NOTHING would be RESTRAINED from us which we imagined to do! Our corrupt fathers had come upon something huge, something malevolent.

Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

In His great mercy, He busted up that antichrist spirit scattering us all abroad. He could have killed them all with one stroke, but He didn't do that. He scattered the rebels so that we would seek His face.

Acts Acts 17:26-27 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

When we were all one language and race, we went to build the tower of Babel and usurp God. God split us up that we may seek his face. And ever since Babel man has been trying to obliterate these barriers THAT GOD HATH SET UP SO THAT WE WOULD SEEK HIM. Bro. Knox contends that there is no problem with two Christians of different races getting married since we are one in Christ, but that the world encouraging interracial marriage is an effort to reverse the effects of Babel. His comments take my mind to the concerted effort to make public school children "world citizens". This whole "new world order" is all an attempt to go right back to Babel. And it is going to happen. Mama come home and school your child yourself and stop watching hell-i-vision!
