Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.

--PSALMS 33:12

I love the United States of America. It is my country. Yes, some people have gone hog wild crazy wanting to desecrate everything that is good about this country. To them I say, "if it is so bad here, why not leave?" But they won't leave because ain't no other country going to let them get away with the foolishness they're commiting here. How many of 'em do you hear say they want to move to Calcutta? No, they don't want to go anywhere, they use our liberties as a springboard for their wickedness. I perceive that the land will vomit us out because of the great wickedness occurring here and I am sorry to see it. Yet I know from Hebrews 13:14--

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

That city, that country that I am looking for is

a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called [my] God: for he hath prepared for [me] a city. Hebrews 11:16

My dad was in the United States Air Force just shy of 30 years. When I look at the flag, I think of the blood that my dad and others spilt. I think of the trenches and the lives that were laid down for my sake. I stand at attention for the Star-Spangled Banner with my hand on my heart even if it's on t.v. If Jesus allows us to have children one day, I will teach them how God blessed America.

When you look at our national songs, you see many references to the Lord God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I've included a few items here and a link to a patriotic site with interesting information on our flag and history.

STAR-SPANGLED BANNER

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight'
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

--Francis Scott Key, September 14th, 1814

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States of America.
And to the Republic for which it stands,
One nation, under God, indivisible,
With liberty and justice for all.

BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

I have seen him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read his righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel, writ in burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on."

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment-seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me:
As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

Chorus:
Glory, glory hallelujah! Glory, glory hallelujah!
Glory, glory hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

--Julia Ward Howe
