Christians oftentimes say, "Abortion is murder!" and it is. It is deadly, wicked evil. But, my friend, what are you willing to do to help a fatherless child who is coming into this world? About 5,000 children are torn asunder in abortions everyday. For those courageous mothers that give birth to a live child, what can we do to help? What alternatives can we offer.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
What is the typical Bible-believing Christian to fulfill pure religion? I'm not talking about the Catholic religion or other cults, I'm talking about saved people. This purpose of this article is provide general information on the alternatives to abortion, how preganant mothers can get help and how Bible believers can fulfill pure religion. There is also a link to an on-line book for those women who have paid assassins to kill their children. Most never forget that experience and Satan's media does not report on the infertility that can accompany abortion.
ALTERNATIVES TO ABORTION
- Keep the child
- Enroll in a free maternity home where you will receive room and board, medical attention, parenting and job skills.
- Allow a relative to rear the child
- Place child for adoption. Very few American women place healthy babies for adoption--especially with abortion-on-demand--and as a result, there are many people waiting for a baby. Why kill your child when somebody wants him or her?

WHAT CAN BIBLE-BELIEVING CHRISTIANS DO?
- Volunteer at a Christian maternity home. They use counsellors, teachers, Bible study leaders, cooks, etc.
- Give money, clothing, furniture to a ministry you know and trust. If you don't know of any look in the yellow pages under "abortion" or check out the internet or ask your pastor.
- Become a foster parent. Many children in this system carry a lot of anger from the physical, sexual, mental abuse they've suffered. Here is an article on working with troubled children. Not all children in foster care are troubled some are honor roll students that just need a place to stay and a family to love them
- Become a friend to a troubled young person. Call your Department of Social Services for leads to organizations that match young people with adults who can be mentors to them.
- Adopt a child. The cost for an infant can be quite expensive; however, adoptions of
- older children
- sibling groups of 2 or more
- special needs such as physically/mentally handicapped or troubled; and,
- sometimes minority, especially Black, children

But someday, if Cook has his way, the sick, the handicapped, the elderly, anyone who can't get to a
sanctuary of choice will be able to attend the service via the home computer.
Yet Cook knows the road to cyberspace begins with one step. For local churches, that first step
could be Jericho Road Inc. Jericho Road is a nonprofit organization that began with a class
assignment this summer at Memphis Theological Seminary. The class was "Church Ministry in the
City." The assignment: Visit local urban ministries; THEN CREATE ONE.
Cook and his classmates were struck by the number and variety of programs. Cook, a lifelong
Memphian, had never heard of many of them.
"it started to become apparent, not that a new ministry was needed, but that we needed to
publicize the ministries that did exist," Cook wrote in his paper.
"It might be a generational thing, but I see the Internet as the circuit rider of the 1990s.

During the summer of 1995, Rich Cook took a class in the Master of Divinity program at Memphis
Theological Seminary, Memphis, TN. "Church Ministry in the City" was taught by Dr. Paul Brown. The
purpose of the course was to "provide students with an overview of issues and needs of urban
cultures and the distinctive role the church plays in addressing these issues and needs." During the
first two weeks of the course, the class visited a number of religious agencies to see how they
addressed these unique needs. Rich Cook -- seminary student,

"There are all kinds of yahoos out there," said Cook from his PC-pew as he scrolled through
something calling itself The First Church of Cyberspace.
"Traditional religion really hasn't caught on yet to the possibilities."
